Neutron Star collides with Earth

What will happen when our Planet will come face to face with its doom? In many hypotheses we imagine the most probable destruction of Earth will be due to the death of our Sun which will consume our Blue Planet in its Red Giant stage. But, as a food for thought, what can happen when our lovely home unfortunately comes close to a Neutron Star?

Its a mind boggling thought which has a cocktail of destruction and mass extinction of life. Just the very imagination of such a cosmic event taking place makes my mind go hay wire. Although hard to digest and uneasy to think, this video by Nat Geo is still a good theory to explain what possibly can happen in the distant hapless future.
