What Humans thought of celestial events in the ancient times

Humans are certainly new in the story of evolution and are also blessed with a creative mind which can understand and recognize patterns. In the ancient times when the knowledge of heavens was minimal and the humans were left to draw their own conclusion based on religion and faith, they observed the celestial events as omens- good or bad.

Many events in the ancient history mark the occurance of these celestial events and how the ancient humans reacted to those. For them seeing a comet pass by or a meteor entering the atmosphere were a sign from gods.
