Ice, in all it forms, covers about 16% of Earth's surface. These ice play a very important role in Earth's climate: they reflect most of the sunlight back into the space, guide ocean currents, keep the sea level down and spawn weather patterns.

With their amazing support to the ecosystem on Earth, ice is an inseparable entity of our world. With the advent of industrialization the global average temperature is increasing at an alarming rate leading to the melting of ice in the polar caps. This poses a great threat to the delicate balance of Mother Nature.

Scientists have been drilling holes in the Antarctic and Arctic sheets, trying to understand the climate history of Earth thousands of years ago and mapping the probable fate of the Earth in the years to come.

Let's find out what is waiting for us in the distant future.
